I normally ignore 10/10 reviews and look for more balanced reviews as they are usually more realistic. But this property IS truely 10/10 and the staff 10/10 doesn’t do them justice. If there was a higher rating they would all get that. In all my years of travelling I have never met a better contingent of hotel staff. My favourite is the restaurant concierge Mohammed who has been with Steigenberger Cecil Alexandria for 37 years. Usually people working in the hotel industry get worn down over the years dealing with problem guests, but not him. His enthusiasm and hospitality in service is amazing. The hotel itself, steeped in history is exceptional. Spotlessly clean. Our room had a beautiful aroma. I loved the hotel decor and the early 20th century elevator. The staff were all immaculately dressed and were so friendly and welcoming every-time I saw them. The laundry service is outstanding. I have never had laundry returned in the condition that the Cecil returned ours in. I thought someone had went out and bought new clothes instead of doing the washing. And the location on the Alexandria Harbour is beautiful. You can stand on your balcony and look over the harbour and just contemplate all the history that unfolded here over thousands of years. I loved the city of Alexandria and the people were amazing and no one trying to scam you like in Giza. Taxi drivers trying to give you back money if you gave then too much. If you visit Alexandria, a stay at Steigenberger Cecil is a MUST

Very rare things in life maintain their quality. We often hear this: it was very good but unfortunately that was in the past. Cecil Hotel is stunningly maintaining and even improving the quality and luxury of service offered by a historical and classic hotel in the heart of Alexandria. My mother stayed here 70 years ago and she said that it was the best hotel in Alexandria back in 1954. Today, I confirm with full confidence that it is still one of the best hotels in Alexandria. The location, the friendly staff going extra miles to please the guests, the breakfast buffet where you can easily spend 2 hours 🤭, the house keeping, the bell captain.. every single person is doing his best to please and serve the guest. This attitude is definitely cascaded from the top management to the last junior staff at the hotel. Thank you for a very pleasant stay at Cecil Hotel Steigenberger.

Cecil Steigenberger is where I truly feel at home. Its perfect location overlooks the beautiful Alexandrian waters, with the vibrant hustle and bustle of downtown just behind. The hotel’s classic look and feel, give it a sense of timeless charm. Staff are exceptionally welcoming, always smiling, greeting warmly, and ready to guide. The reception team has improved greatly, Wasef was amazing, very accommodating, and welcoming. Yaser, I have no words except to say you truly make the place feel like home. The housekeeping staff deserve a special mention too, they’re honest, thorough, and treat your space and belongings with the same care as if it were their own. A special highlight of my stay was the thoughtful surprise from the hotel, a whole chocolate cake for my birthday! It was such a kind, unexpected and much appreciated gesture.

We stayed four nights in corner sea facing room, of this historic hotel 1929 vintage, Excellent room with heritage furniture & fitments of great style, including a chandelier. best part two vintage elevators, functioning perfectly with vintage brass fitments inside each elevator. excellent breakfast, with egyption food, variety of cheese, meats, vegetables & fruit. we liked the FALAFEL served hot. sea view from room superb. Long Corniche in front of hotel, super. we walked everyday in the evening on the boulevard. variety of resataurants walking distance. Museum, Library, Roman theatre closeby, catacombs little further away. Must see all four. all easily accessible by Uber, used by us extensively. Train station 10 mts away

I loved the boutique and historical hotel atmosphere at The Cecil hotel. The hotel is itself a historical landmark in the centre of the Corniche and apparently has hosted several famous personalities. We were welcomed with an upgrade to a room with a balcony with side views of the ocean, Corniche. Our room was of good size with traditional high ceilings and very clean, comfy beds. The birdcage elevator gives the hotel a historical touch. We also love the breakfast, it was a feast of delicious pastries, fruit and hot and cold food options in a beautiful room with views of the Cornish. We would definitely recommend this classy hotel to anyone visiting Alexandria.
