The view is quite superb and beyond me honestly, I have had a quite nice view, the view is worth staying and dying for in that hotel. The hotel had that classic old looks yet it seemed very neat, acquiainting and comfy. The lights in the corridors seemed as it came from an old movie, the room design and the corridor design would immediately take you back to the 50-60s. The staff all of them are VERY friendly, quite welcoming the guests and quite knowledgeable and very polite to us. All of them and I mean ALL of them were quite nice, showing elegant hospitality that resonates with the place. The breakfast is just AMAZING, the sweet and sour things all alike. The falafel there especially that I have had from the chef “ who btw came to me by himself to bring the food, just like all other chefs” at 6 AM seemed as if it came from an authentic Falafel cart on the streets. The quality of the food was quite nice and I have special mention to Mr. Mohamed who was quite friendly and welcoming to me and my wife in the breakfast, tried to make sure we have the best experience for our breakfast, he is a GEM The bathroom was lovely and I really liked the fact that they have concept of keeping the environment safe of throwing towels for no reason. The cleanliness of the housekeeping is spot on and they would make sure that you have everything you need, EVEN extra things if you want “like Nesprrsso capsules or extra water, FOR FREE, no tips given” I really have to say it is an unforgettable experience from top to bottom that made me very sad honestly going back home and leaving this spotless hotel. I already recommended my family to go there and for sure they will be once they arrive to Alex. Alex itself is magical and with Cecil hotel, it is spectacular to say the least. To note, The hotel was quite flexible as well in terms of extending the stay and made sure things were sorted out very smoothly, thus I made another rating for them”which they deserve it highly”

The staff went above and beyond to meet any and all needs. They were friendly, helpful and efficient. The housekeeper, bellmen, room service, guest relations, the driver who they recommended, the wait staff in the restaurant, the laundry service, all more than met the expectations! The atmosphere takes you back to the glory days of Hollywood with its old world charm and staff attention, not to mention the most Instagram worth elevator straight out of the 1920’s. The vibe is classy and elegant. I found myself asking the staff where they hid the ugly women in Egypt? Each woman held a regal beauty and their friendliness let you know it wasn’t just skin deep. Definitely my pick of places to stay in Alexandria if you want to be near it all and wander to the sites or into a small restaurant where you can appreciate the taste of Egypt. Definitely go at the point of starvation. You will leave full to the brim and carry a sack full of leftovers with you.

The hotel is authentic and very well preserved and maintained. such authenticity and history that jumps from each corner is very unique. You can still walk into Agatha Christi's room and explore it! The very old but very well maintained elevator that dates 100 years back is an adventure of its own... the kids loved how luxurious every piece of the hotel is. The staff are very professional, polite and helpful: room service, bellman, receptionists all all are very professional and welcoming! The location and view are superb. You can enjoy panoramic view over the beautiful city of Alexandria and the beach line! We use to have breakfast at the nearby Delices restaurant which matches the authenticity of this hotel. The hotel is a walking distance from the tramway station. Also you can enjoy a cottage ride to the citadel and old town. It is 5 minutes by taxi to Alexandria Bibliotheque!

We loved the hotel: although it was of the late 1920’s and more recent renewed with all the modern comfort, it kept its style and elegance of the past. All members of the staff were utmost friendly and helpful. All can speak good English. The ladies Nesma and Nagham were always ready to help you around with information on Alexandria, and if needed a good taxi driver. Breakfast was outstanding: a large variety, freshly made, excellent service and, for those who are coffee lovers the best made Italian style expresso’s and cappuccino’s. Snacks and meals were the best one can find in Alexandria. Our ‘Classic’ room had all the comfort we could think for our 11-day stay in the hotel. Daily full service. And very important: the rooms have a good isolation to keep all the noise from the street outside.
